Geschichte
Psamathus or Psamathous, called by Strabo Amathus or Amathous (Ἀμαθοῦς), was a harbour of ancient Laconia on the Mani Peninsula. The Periplus of Pseudo-Scylax places it "back-to-back" (ἀντίπυλος) with the harbour of Achilleius.
